Calling all Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni!
As everyone knows, Southwest Louisiana (SWLA) has been ravaged by not one, but TWO devastating storms - Hurricanes Laura and Delta. The road to recovery will be long and hard, but the heavy onslaught of assistance after a disaster typically wanes after the first few weeks as more disasters occur across the country.
As members of Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni, we are called to SERVICE. Your ServeBR committee reached out to Leadership SWLA to offer our assistance. The need is great.
Leadership SWLA has indicated the most needed items are GIFT CARDS. Think Walmart, Target, VISA, Amazon, etc. Any denomination is gratefully appreciated.
Gift cards eliminate the need for sorting and storage of donated items. They can be easily distributed and used for what is needed most by each individual in need at that time, i.e. gas for vehicles and/or generators, food, clothing, cleaning supplies, etc. LBRA will maintain records of collection and distribution of gift cards for record purposes.
For those who would prefer to make a cash donation, CLICK HERE. All cash donations will be converted into gift cards to bring to Lake Charles on December 19.
Volunteers are still needed in Lake Charles as they continue their massive recovery efforts. LBRA will be pairing with another group to assist in the cleanup effort on Saturday, December 19.
Deadline to sign up to volunteer is Friday, December 11.
At this special time of year, we have an opportunity to assist our friends and neighbors in SWLA who have lost so much this hurricane season. Thank you for all you have already done and for considering taking part in our LBRA Hurricane Relief project to help bring some much-needed relief and a little holiday joy to SWLA.
