“The State of the City” is a new event series organized by Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni. Influential leaders around Baton Rouge will present and give their perspective on opportunities to solve or improve key issues related to education, race relations, poverty, transportation and infrastructure. Leaders are invited to join the dialogue and become part of the solution.

ABOUT CHRIS TYSON:
Chris is an expert on cities and urban redevelopment, drawing from educational and professional experiences in architecture, management consulting, entrepreneurship, public policy, politics, state and local government law, urban land use, real estate development, social justice advocacy, and law teaching.
As the President and CEO of Build Baton Rouge, Chris works to promote equitable investment, innovative development and thriving communities across all of Baton Rouge. He promotes strategies to end racial and spatial stratification in cities and advocate for an integrated approach to bettering the built, social, and natural environments. Ultimately, Chris strives to create a more socially equitable and ecologically resilient urban future.
